Power, Rogers & Smith: Thomas G. Siracusa
Tom Siracusa, an exceptional trial lawyer, has been with the powerhouse firm of Power Rogers & Smith since 1986. Mr. Siracusa has built a powerful reputation representing seriously injured persons in medical malpractice, product liability, construction negligence, and automobile accident cases, as well as families of wrongful death victims. His hard work and success record have resulted in Mr. Siracusa being selected and honored by his peers as a "Leading Lawyer" in the field of plaintiffs' personal injury litigation.
Working on some of the toughest personal injury cases over the last two decades, Mr. Siracusa has achieved record-setting results for his clients. One such outstanding result was on behalf of a child who suffered cerebral palsy after she was administered an inappropriate dose of medication. Fighting doggedly for the child's and the family's rights, in 2002 Mr. Siracusa obtained a $19,250,000 settlement for his clients. The medical malpractice settlement was the largest ever recorded against Cook County, IL.
In another highly publicized win, Mr. Siracusa, with his partner Joseph A. Power, Jr., recovered a $12,225,000 settlement on behalf of a woman who sustained a brain injury from a failure to treat pregnancy-related high blood pressure. The settlement was reported to be one of the highest medical malpractice settlements in Lake County, IL.
In addition to his large caseload, Mr. Siracusa has published several chapters on medical malpractice and product liability for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. A frequent speaker on trial practice and evidentiary issues, Mr. Siracusa also serves on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Board of the Birth Trauma Litigation Group of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
