Power, Rogers & Smith: Leadership

With exceptional credentials and an unmatched success record in personal injury law, the Chicago-based law firm of Power Rogers & Smith and its three name partners are recognized as top Chicago personal injury attorneys and leaders in the personal injury bar across the nation.

Voted the No. 1 Law Firm in Chicago by Chicago Magazine and as the No.1 Plaintiff's Law Firm in Chicago by Chicago Lawyer Magazine, the partners at Power Rogers & Smith have built their reputations in Illinois injury law one case at a time. Winning some of the largest personal injury verdicts and settlements in the state and the country, including such record-setting wins as a $100 million settlement for a single family in 1999 and a $55 million personal injury verdict in 2000, the law firm has come to be known as a haven for the toughest personal injury and wrongful death cases.

For their unending hard work and dedication, the Chicago injury attorneys and law firm have won numerous accolades from their clients, their peers and the media.

For instance, Joseph A. Power, Jr. was recently honored with a Medal of Merit from the Illinois State Bar Association and the Tribute for Leadership on behalf of social justice and progressive change by US Action and US Action Education Fund. A past president of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, he also received the Citizen of the Year Award in 2003 from the City Club of Chicago. And in 2002, Chicago Magazine named Mr. Power one of the 30 toughest lawyers in all fields in Chicago, and said that Mr. Power is an injury attorney you want to make sure is working "for you, not against you."

Larry R. Rogers, Sr., a true leader in his field, is a past president of the Cook County Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. He was recently voted by American Lawyer Media as one of the 10 most influential Illinois lawyers and by the National Law Journal as one of the nation's top 10 litigators.

Todd A. Smith, the immediate past president of the influential and prestigious Association of Trial Lawyers of America, was voted Person of the Year by Chicago Lawyer magazine. He also received the American Legion Award of Excellence, as well as the Damen Award from the Loyola University of Chicago.

The following are the named partners' awards, honors and leadership roles in the Chicago community and across the United States.
